Lovely summer nights

Last night I savoured–once I’d negotiated the fact every left or right turn I needed to make was prohibited by road markings–a beautiful evening beside the Colorado river while milling around the Auditorium Shores park beneath the electric Austin skyline.

Food trailers were dotted around a live music event–have to admit, I think most food trailers are overpriced but at least they’re there if you need them–and kids were having a whale of a time playing in a multi-coloured lit water fountain installation.

A drum group was playing, with participants twirling hula-hoops around their waists and a lovely breeze–often hard to find in Texas–was blowing through the park. I guess what most locals would call a typical Austin September evening.
